Assignment Alert Form

Help us help your students! Please complete the form below to alert our Reference Librarians to assignments that require use of JSRCC Library resources and services. With advanced notice, we will be better prepared to:

  • identify available resources for students
  • direct students to resources more efficiently
  • refer to a copy of the assignment when clarification of requirements is needed
  • anticipate increases in demand for specific materials and place these materials on reserve
  • assess the need for purchasing additional resources for the Library

Before creating any assignment, we strongly encourage you to search our catalog to find out what print and electronic books are available and to view what print and electronic periodicals are available.

If you limit the number of Internet sources your students can use for a research assignment, please make sure your students understand the differences between information found through search engines such as Google and information retrieved from our library databases.

Check out our other tips for Creating Effective Research Assignments.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask a librarian.
