The Reynolds Downtown Campus Library is pleased to share its new display area called “Current Local Happenings” This month, we are very happy to feature “Prescription for Change” inspired by the exhibit of that name at the Black History Museum through March 15.
The idea behind the new display is that students are already downtown, and enjoying free parking. Your Student ID, and often faculty ID, is good for discounted or free admission at many cultural institutions around Richmond and elsewhere. By all means, we encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities!

At the “Prescription for Change” exhibit, you can:
“Explore the remarkable history through images, artifacts, and documents, showcasing the efforts of Black medical professionals to combat healthcare disparities and inequities. This landmark exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of Black achievements in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and allied health professions, illuminating pathways to addressing contemporary healthcare issues.”
The Black History Museum is within walking distance from the Downtown Parking deck. Located at 122 West Leigh street the stately building is hard to miss. Since many students at the Downtown Campus are in healthcare-related programs, this partnership is a particularly fitting choice for our first local display.

The Black History Museum also hosts a free monthly forum on Health Accessibility which we encourage everyone to consider attending. https://blackhistorymuseum.org/event/
